Welcome to Dean’s Den

Tucked along the banks of the Fish River, Dean’s Den is more than a hunting lodge, it’s the heart of Courtney and Randy Bossie’s family homestead. Together with five children, a few faithful dogs, and a lively mini-farm, they live onsite year-round, welcoming guests into their home as if they were long-lost friends.

For the Bossies, hunting isn’t just a season, it's a lifestyle rooted in generations of Maine woodsmen and the rhythms of the land. Their warmth, hospitality, and deep respect for Maine’s wild places create the kind of camp atmosphere that keeps guests coming back year after year with deep waiting lists.

"I honestly didn’t know if I could pull this off. I’ve got two little ones at home, and I’d never hunted before. But my guide made me feel safe, confident, and, dare I say it, like I belonged in the woods. When I finally saw that bear come in, my heart was racing!"

Emily, 29 New Hunter & Mom of Two

"I’ve been hunting since my twenties, and I wasn’t sure what more an organized hunt could offer me. Turns out, plenty. The team at Dean’s Den knows the land inside and out, and they deliver an authentic Maine hunting experience with first-class comfort. I loved swapping stories with the younger women over dinner and seeing their excitement—it reminded me of my very first hunt decades ago."

Linda, 62, Veteran Hunteress

"I signed up because I wanted adventure, and that’s exactly what I got. The mornings were crisp, the woods alive, and every sit in the stand felt like anything could happen. But it wasn’t just the hunt. Hiking along the river, laughing in the lodge, and eating those amazing meals, it all came together into an experience that fed my soul. This wasn’t just about chasing bear. It was about living fully."

Karen, 46, Passionate Outdoorswoman
