Randy & Courtney Bossie
OWNERS & OPERATORS
Courtney and Randy Bossie embody Maine hospitality. As owner-operators of Dean’s Den in New Canada, they’ve built more than a lodge, they’ve built a nationwide extended family of fellow hunters. Randy is a Maine Professional Guide specializing in black bear, moose, and upland birds, running a full-service lodge on the Fish River in northern Aroostook County.
Courtney brings a caregiver’s heart to camp life, with a background as a labor & delivery registered nurse in Aroostook County’s maternal/child units, experience that shows up in her calm, capable presence and guest care.
Their family lives on the property, tending a small homestead, raising dogs and kids, and keeping the grounds welcoming for outdoorsmen and women year-round. Guests quickly discover that a stay at Dean’s Den feels like being folded into the fabric of their family: hearty meals from Courtney’s kitchen, legendary stories around the table, and the unmistakable sense that you belong here.
TENLEY SKOLFIELD
LEAD EVENT GUIDE
Tenley Skolfield is a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is an experienced operations leader and passionate advocate for Maine’s outdoor heritage. After a successful career in finance and process management at Bowdoin College’s award-winning Dining Service, she took a leap into entrepreneurship and purchased Fish River Lodge in 2005.
Over the next several years, Tenley revitalized the lodge, rebuilt its client base, and turned it into a destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Through her guiding business, As the Crow Flies, she specialized in family fishing trips for brook trout and landlocked salmon, big game and upland bird hunts, and wilderness paddling, hiking, and photography adventures.
In 2024, her lifelong commitment to Maine’s sporting traditions was honored with the Flyrod Crosby Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Governor Janet Mills and the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
TATIANA WHITLOCK
PISTOL & RIFLE FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR
Tatiana Whitlock is wife and mother to five kids. She is a nationally recognized firearms instructor, Director of Training for A Girl & A Gun, the nation’s largest women’s shooting organization, and Director of Training for Howell’s Gun Shop, Maine’s premier indoor range and training facility. With over a decade of experience training civilians, law enforcement, and military individuals, Tatiana is known for making firearms education accessible and effective for students of all levels.
A lifelong Mainer and passionate bear hunter, Tatiana blends technical skill with real-world practicality, teaching marksmanship, safe gun handling, and defensive mindset. She is a sought-after speaker and writer, contributing to national training events, firearms publications, and podcasts. Her mission is to empower individuals, especially women, to take charge of their own security with confidence and respect for the responsibility of carrying a firearm.
Jennie Cote
MAINE GUIDE & OUTDOORSWOMAN
Jeanie Cote is a passionate Registered Maine Guide with a lifetime of outdoor experience and a deep respect for Maine’s wild places. She blends skill, knowledge, and authenticity to create unforgettable adventures for every client.
From remote backcountry treks to scenic paddling trips, Jeanie guides with safety, professionalism, and a strong commitment to ethical, sustainable outdoor practices. She’s equally at home teaching essential skills to beginners or leading seasoned adventurers deeper into the wilderness.
An experienced trapper, Jeanie is known for her expertise with beaver and coyote and for her creative recipes that honor the full field-to-table experience. Her work reflects a love for conservation, tradition, and Maine’s outdoor heritage.
With Jeanie as your guide, you don’t just explore the North Woods—you discover its untamed beauty, rich history, and enduring spirit.
